Isaiah 61 Fund Activated to Help Lemieux Family

Lisa Lemieux and her daughters, Emma, Alissa and Amber had just moved into a new rental home next to the First Baptist Church in the last few weeks. On Wednesday, April 2, 2008 their home and all of their worldly possessions were destroyed in a fire caused by a natural gas explosion that also destroyed the church and another home. Thankfully, the Lemieux family was not at home and they were not injured. But they have tremendous needs for clothing, bedding, linens, furniture, appliances, dishes, etc. They have temporary housing with a family member so the immediate need does not include furniture. That will come a little later.

Recognizing our desire to support this family in physical and visible ways, in addition to our daily prayers, we have activated a fund that will be used to assist the Lemieuxs.  The ISAIAH 61 FUND takes its name from chapter 61 of Isaiah where God announces the intention to "bring good news to the afflicted and to heal the broken-hearted...".  Contributions to the ISAIAH 61 FUND will be devoted to paying the costs that the Lemieuxs will face in the weeks ahead as they put their lives back together in a new home. Contributions may be sent to the
