Called to this church as Senior Pastor in 1988.
Devoted husband to Sue Konkel, committed father of Benjamin, Elisa, Emily and Brice, learner, teacher, lover of people, seeker of justice, and believer in possibilities. As a disciple of Jesus, my ministry is devoted to engaging life as Jesus did. Areas of special concern include:

1. Justice, peace and the integrity of creation
2. Political and cultural action to combat racism
3. Issues in human sexuality and relationships
4. Deepening of ecumenical dialogue, cooperation and shared mission

Graduate of Heidelberg College, Tiffin, Ohio; and Andover-Newton Theological School, Newton Centre, Massachusetts. Ordained in the United Church of Christ on June 29, 1975. I have served churches in Massachusetts, Ohio and Wisconsin.

The Rev. Lisa Schmatzhagen, Associate Pastor of Youth and Families

My passion for serving the Lord calls me to serve others and lead them to receive the good news of God's grace and love. Through the youth and education programs, retreats, mission work projects, family ministry, worship leadership, and bible study groups, I find great joy in sharing in the work God is doing.

My free time involves spending time with my family, which includes my husband, Kurt, and four adult children (plus their spouses): Rachelle (and Dave), Paul (and Mylisa), Amanda, and Sarah. I also enjoy reading, studying, watching movies, cooking new recipes with my family, boating on the area lakes, camping, hiking, and playing games.

Graduated from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, and the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary. Ordained in the United Church of Christ on October 14, 2007.
